Sugar Cookie Recipe:

Ingredients:
1. 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2. 1 teaspoon baking soda
3. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
4. 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
5. 1 1/2 cups white sugar
6. 1 egg
7. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
8. 1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
9. 3/4 cup granulated sugar for decoration

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set aside.
3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth.
4. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract (if using).
5. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
6. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, and roll in granulated sugar. Place onto ungreased cookie sheets about 2 inches apart.
7. Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden. Let cool on wire racks.
